An inspiration, both in terms of talent and panache but also for the great courage in the face of adversity. Rest in peace Paul, you will be missed....

Please donate to Paul's favourite charity

This is a terrible time for sport. Paul Hunter was a fine young man and deserved to live a long and sucessful life. His life was cut short by a rare form of cancer. Paul and his family have been supporting a charity who help people and their families deal with this kind of cancer. They are a small charity and I want people to help them, much like Paul and his family have done with the fundraising they have taken part in. Please donate to http://www.justgiving.com/snookerfans and we can make a realy contribution to making live better for people in the same position as Paul.

many thanks

Rest In Peace Paul

I have been a snooker fan for a couple of years now and Paul was always my favourite player. For him to have gotten this illness at such a young age is heartbreaking and the fact he lost his battle with it is even worse. I know how devastating it can be to lose someone close to you to cancer and my thoughts are with his family, wife, baby daughter and everyone else who knew him. Rest In Peace Paul, you will be missed and never forgotten xxx

So sorry to hear you have gone

Great snooker player, possibly would have been one of the greatest. Not only that, but a great guy as well. I heard the news and couldn't believe it! It shows the impact on people lives that he has made, with all these warm comments. Even though his life was cut short, he made a huge impact in all of our lifes in some way. And l think that shows how much of a great person her was.

Thank you

Thank you for everything Paul. your playing style was a joy to behold especially your masters wins showing guts to come behind in all the finals, and your gutsy battle against cancer. Being a father to a young family myself, my family's thoughts go to your wife and daughter who i'm sure are very proud of you. Your memory will live long in the snooker world as one of the best players to have picked up a cue and for being a fantastic and graceful sportsman. Even though you didn't win a world championship you are a world champion in my eyes. RIP PaulXXX
