I was very saddened to hear the news about Paul's death last night. He was a great player and a real asset to the game. I saw him play in York last year and the reception he got was amazing. To carry on playing and to be in the public eye knowing he was fighting cancer must have taken some bottle. Rest in peace Paul, wherever you are.

Tribute

An appalling sad day. The only tribute I can think of that comes close would be to have the 2007 world championship renamed for the year as the Paul Hunter Memorial (world) Championship; partly because everyone who is introduced will be playing for his memory, partly because he would, without question, have had his hands on the famous old trophy as champion were fate not so cruel.
Our thoughs are with his family and friends.

I was Immensely stunned and shocked By this terrible news it is hard to comprehend, made me feel bad inside, and has made me realise how Lucky I am to be alive and wonder Why such a great person as paul hunter has been taken at such a young age.Paul was a TRUELY GREAT player who not only was so young but had his whole life ahead of him and would have been a World Champion one day WITHOUT ANY DOUBT but for some reason it was not to be.My thought's and sympathy go to his family at such a DESPERATELY SAD TIME as this.he will be missed ENORMOUSLY on the snooker circuit by ALL player's,spectators, official's,Commentators and his fan's.His GREAT bravery and courage in continuing to play and compete in the major tournaments whilst fighting such a terrible disease is an inspiration to us all,and he will not be forgotten.RIP PAUL HUNTER your pain and suffering are over.

What a genuine nice guy, who was an inspiration to us all. You only have to read all volume of messages to understand what a true gentleman and excellent individual Paul was. RIP.

As an avid snooker follower, i'd like to express my shock and utter sadness at the news. Paul was a gentleman on and off the table. Snooker has lost one of it's showmen. My sincere thoughts go out to his family at this time. God Bless
